The credits deposited on your Energy Credit Card comes from your local electric utility after
they install a solar power PV system on your roof at no cost to you. They will be leasing your
roof space and will deposit the "rent money" into your energy credit card's bank account.
The Why:
- Utilities are mandated to install solar PV...a lot of it. These solar PV systems will bring much
needed support to the power lines in your neighborhood particularly during the hottest days of
the year when everyone is running their air-conditioner. These monthly credits to your energy
credit card are payment for leasing your roof space for their PV system.
Why not pay in cash?
The Energy Credit Card is better than cash because it's also a discount credit card. Environmentally aware local retailers will give you discounts on energy efficiency products like HVAC, weather stripping, Energy Star appliances and other energy related goods and services such as mass transit tickets, gasoline, diesel, natural gas and propane.
With enough solar panels on your building, you could be energy independent.
You finally have control of your energy costs.
